MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X ATX LGA1151 Motherboard & Corsair H105

so i have a MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X ATX LGA1151 Motherboard and when trying to cool my 6700k with my Corsair H105 i cant seem to fit the silver bracket into the board because there are parts of the mobo in the way am i being stupid or do i need to buy some sort of slimline bracket or something?

It's a backplate (if that's what you're referring to). You're supposed to install it on the back of the board.

i thought the back plate was the black plastic part. again my stupidity dose get the best of me at times lol

it was the pre installed metal bracket was against the top of the small cylinder things on the mobo
