Just put this together, red light on "CPU" on "EZ Debug" on motherboard when powered on, all fans working, power looks good and I've checked the CPU install, looks accurate and snug.

Motherboard: MSI Z170A PC MATE

Your PSU could be bad (ATX_12V for the CPU). Have you tried another PSU? Or try your PSU on another PC to see if it works.

You could also try a different stick of RAM. Sometimes a dead stick can cause problems with the CPU being detected.

If you know the PSU and RAM are good, you should remove the CPU and inspect the socket for bent pins. After that you're probable looking at a DOA motherboard. It happens 🙁

How can I update if I cant get into BIOS?

I will test the PSU, as for the RAM, well I only have the one stick of HyperX FURY 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Desktop Memory Model HX421C14FB/8

Does not have to be in pairs does it? at any rate I get the same results with the memory in or out.
