Hey, this is my first time building a PC and I am running into an issue using XMP to set my RAM to the rated 2400. The board is a MSI Z270 Gaming M3 with an i7-7700k. the RAM is G.Skill Ripjaws V series (2x8GB). I've tried activating XMP as well as manually selecting 2400 in BIOS, both to no avail.I was hoping someone on here could help me out.

Solution
If you are setting the speed manually you will also need to set the timings accordingly.
Which motherboard do you have? Your mobo link just links to the RAM.
Try to update BIOS on motherboard.
