Question msi z370-a boots fine but i cant get into bios?

when i first bought this mobo, i used the bios a few times, but now when i boot, i don't have any video output until the windows 10 login screen appears. i've tried to use the windows recovery menu and go to bios from there, but it gives me a black screen and doesn't do anything until i reboot. then it goes to login again. should i reset the cmos or is there something else i may be forgetting? Thank you.

i forgot to add fastboot is turned off as well.

Maybe talking out of my a** here but temporarily hook up monitor to integrated GPU port?
