MSI Z370 A-Pro CPU debug LED with 9th Gen Intel CPU

I have an i5-9600k and getting no output. The EzDebug LED doesn't light up until I power it off it quickly flashes. I know these motherboards were designed for 8th Grade Intel CPUs but I was under the impression that I would at least be able to get to BIOS in order to update it. I tried moving the RAM to different slots to no avail. Also tried removing and reapplying thermal paste. This is my second build, my first being when I was a freshman in high school so I haven't really done this in awhile and I'm not sure where to go from here. Getting worried that something was either DOA or that I made some type of mistake. Everything lights up on startup, and I throughly read through the MB manuel to ensure I had everything plugged into the right places. Thank you for anyone who can steer me in the right direction

The system would not POST if the board's BIOS version does noy support the CPU. You can try returning the board and buying instead a Z390 one.

According to this article https://www.anandtech.com/show/13148/msi-z370-motherboards-now-support-intels-9th-gen-core-cpus 9th Gen should be supported in the new BIOS. I thought I'd at least be able to boot and update. Essentially what I'm asking is if this is a known issue

Yes, it is a known issue. System not POST-ing if BIOS not updated.
