I can't find a proper answer anywhere but what I do see is similar design in Z370 GODLIKE board. So here is the question..... no comment first. WTF they're thinking putting a damn connector port like that in the middle of the board next to MAIN gpu card. I mean come on now it'll screw up my look. Look at ASUS Edition 10 board they have supplemental connector.... on the BOTTOM !

So there is the question:
Do I need to connect it or is a supplemental connector that needed only when you using like triple SLI setup. IF anyone knows please let me know. Also ways to hide cable that goes here properly .... Thanks !

Solution
Well, you found the answer yourself... if you're running a single GPU(and even a 2xSLI setup) that 6 pin power connector is not needed.

From research that I did it looks like all PCIE_PWR1 connectors on all boards needed only for multi-gpu configuration and/or some GPU overclocking. With that in mind for normal operation with single gpu it's not needed to be plugged in.
