Almost done with build. New plantek 600s, artic esprts 34 duo, i7-10700 kf, msi rx5700xt..msi z490 gaming edge wi fi.., crucial 500gb m.2 drive..first problem was artic 34 cooler. I had mounting brackets on wrong side, there are 2 slots on top were the mounting brackets fit into....had them underneath at first, started computer, cpu hot, no contact...now it works,,,happy with artic 34, 39 or 40c surfing....2nd problem, fans on phantek 600s not spinning,,,,there is a 12 v sata cable that needs to be plugged into psu, never seen that before,,,,,3rd problem , on boot, could not get into bios or f11 boot menu,,,,tried all types of keyboards sata, the legacy round 6 pin,,, problem solved by clearing cmos ,shorting jbat1 pins,,,,,everything now working great

Fan hubs need external power since the power fed from the header on the motherboard are limited in how much power than can output. It's not new. Best you parse a picture so you're not misinterpreting another connector in your build.

Make and model of your PSU? What slot did you populate on the motherboard for your Crucial SSD? Any other ports occupied on the SATA end? Which slot did you populate with the GPU?

To a casual reader, the thread looks like you don't have a question worth answering since the last sentence you state is everything now working great .
