Question MSI Z690 Tomahawk Help with compatibility - 13900k

MB MSI z690 Tomahawk DDR5
RAM 2x32gb 5600mhz

I think i have just made a purchase error with the motherboard, should i have bought a z790 for the DDR5 memory stability? and other issues i can't think of?

The ram should be fine. You will need a bios update to get an z690 board to support the i9 13900k.
