I recently purchased the MSI Z87-G41 Motherboard and I'm running a windows XP OS. When it attempts to boot windows it quickly cuts to a black screen and 'A3' comes up in the bottom right followed by the 'Start windows in safety mode/normally" menu, and continues to loop that process never successfully booting up.

What does this sound like? To my knowledge Mobo's didn't favor OS's and just booted if configured properly.

I was told about booting in IDE mode instead and that did not work.

Solution
MSI has no XP drivers for this board and the XP support ends in a few weeks. No further security patches, no drivers for new hardware. It's time for an upgrade to win7 or even 8.1.
It won't boot in "safe mode" or "safe mode and networking" - no matter which setting It simply gets into this boot-loop that cycles on the attempt to load Windows XP

There is a disc for the drivers but you cannot boot from it so it's of no use right this moment!

Any further advice?

Is an old version of XP just not compatible? Perhaps an upgrade to Windows 7?
