Hello Folks,

I had a chance to update the BIOS on my motherboard from 1.6 to 1.9. I downloaded the file from MSi's support page and saved it on a usb that I in turn used to update the system from the BIOS interface using the M-Flash utility in the BIOS screen. Once it updated successfully (at least that is what it said) the computer restarted and I got a "Attempting Repairs" screen from windows 10 and it has been on the screen for awhile now. Did I just kill my machine? The update did say that it would need to update the ME section of the BIOS as well.

With BIOS updates, you should be patient so yeah it will take a while. Be careful not to have the power go out on you or loose your wits to power down hard. If possible go out for a stroll and come back after a long while and time it. You should be patient with Windows 10 systems as well since they can go belly up. Speaking of going belly up, be sure to disable automatic device driver updates feature.

It's also advised to go gradually through the BIOS updates, i.e 1.6 to 1.7 to 1.8 to 1.9.
