Hello everyone. I have the MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming motherboard, and a 120 GB Kingston hyperX 3K SSD. I would like to purchase another SSD and create a RAID 0 configuration. My motherboard (so far as I know) doesn't have a RAID controller, and I dont know how to set up a RAID configuration. I need someone to give me some guidance on how to set up RAID. I would appreciate any help that anyone could give me, and I would also like to know of a good RAID controller to buy (if I need one), thanks!

no... you probably don't want to RAID 0 SSDs...

there are lots of reasons for this.
1) the failure rate of a RAID 0 array is proportional to the square of the number of drives. So if your drive has a 1.3% failure rate in a RAID 0 array it's new failure rate will be 5.2% (2 drives squared = 4; 4x1.3 = 5.2).
2) SSDs are only as reliable as your power supply... unless you have a high end seasonic or equally good psu, the failure rate of your SSDs will be high
3) high end SSDs are already mostly bottlenecked by your cpu, RAID 0 won't improve that situation any.

There are some compelling reasons to make a SSD RAID 1 or RAID 10 setup, but RAID 0? not so much.
