Hi guys, so I'm gonna start with the fact that I was going about my day when suddenly my pc just froze. This issue; to be fair, could also be an issue with windows itself or one of my drives. But when I started it back up windows would just load infinitely and on the 3rd try the automatic repair would also load infinitely.

I went and looked for similar issues and tried trouble shooting things. I went ahead and cleared cmos as well.

Earlier in the day I did mess with some drivers for my Xbox 360 controller and in the process I deleted one of the xinput drivers, I would have assumed this to not cause an issue but my wallpaper did dissappear after doing this.

Back to the motherboard, assuming there was an issue with windows I tried to boot up my windows copy/installer as a last resort via flash drive but to no avail. It is only allowing me to boot windows normally, when I try to boot from another device/USB I get the message to removeb or change devices and hit any key to restart (it never restarts when I hit a key). I've tried to disconnect all external devices and even my extra drives for storage.

I'm kind of desperate so any advice Is welcome. I will put my pc specs below.

Mobo: MSI z97-G45
Power Supply: Corsair Gold 800w
Ram: Corsair vengeance 16gb
Cou: I7 4790k
Ssd: (has windows on it) San disk 128gb
Gpu: x2 Gtx 970 sli (also tried to boot only using 1 if them)

Sorry for any typos or misspelling, all done on my small phone. Thanks!

Here's what I would try, boot up in Safe Mode (F8 on boot). If it allows you to boot, run a system restore. This will take your computer back to the day/time you restore it to when it was working. If it turns out it doesn't work on the first try, don't worry, try again on a different date.

I've tried to boot it up while pressing f8 before it makes it to the windows loading in image. (Forgot to mention this is windows 10) It hasn't done anything and I have tried the shift+f8 but it still boots it up like normal.

Okay so I put in a new hard drive and a different USB. I was able to install windiws 8 and upgrade it from there. However it was unable to update on my SSD so a possible assumption could be that my SSD is no longer good.

As far as where I'm standing I think I will be fine using this new hard drive. If I find any new information I'll be sure to post it.
