MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard Audio issues

Okay so I've read a lot of people having similar issues but after trying their solutions I haven't had any luck.

My audo doesn't work at all. I've connect HD Audio to my JAUD1 port and I've connected the AUDPWR1 as well and windows still hasn't detected an audio device. I've installed the drivers and the audio boost switch thing is on but I'm just not getting anything... Any help?

You may need to download the soundblaster cinema software: http://www.creative.com/oem/products/software/cinema.asp I had to before my audio worked properly.

You may have to adjust the settings in the windows audio panel as well. If none of this works you may need to update your motherboard bios.

PS: Are you using the drivers off the dvd or the website? If the DVD, then get the ones off the MSI website.

Thanks for your help! Unfortunately though, I updated the BIOS and audio drivers and I installed soundblaster but windows still won't detect it! I must be doing something wrong???

Try right clicking the volume icon on the bottom right of your screen, then go to playback devices and make sure the proper audio device is selected as the default output device.

That's the problem i'm afraid, it doesn't appear on the list/says it's not plugged in at all

You might be doing some basic mistakes in settings ... So, I will advise, post screenshots of what you have/seeing in Control Panel>Sound>playback

This seems like a Realtek ALC1150 driver problem where it's not detecting anything at all. You should check this out & follow the steps to troubleshoot it.
