[SOLVED] MSI Z97 gaming 7

Hello Everyone,

I just moved back into the states, and the moving company busted my top pci_e slot on my MSI Z97 gaming 7. I am running an i7 4790k and an MSI 970 GPU. What would I lose by putting the GPU into the second pci_e slot? I have looked at used boards, but damn are they overpriced. And yes, I know my stuff is old, but that is what I have. Thank you for your help.

Sadly, yes it is quite overpriced, the H61/81M variants should be cheaper.
The second slot would be PCIE Gen 3x8, soo that would be minor bottleneck.
