Hi everyone,

Lately, I've been having lots of problems with my mouse, especially in gaming; sluggish movement, stutters, nput lag...etc, so I decided maybe it's time for a fresh install of Windows 7, but the thing is, im not really sure what to do here, like do I need motherboard drivers? are they necessary? If so, then where do I get them from? And if possible, could you kindly help a newbie and guide me through the process on what to install. Sorry for such newbie questions I'm not really familiar with the whole process so bear with me please.

Specs:

MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC
ASUS Strix GTX970
i7-4790K
Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB 1600mhz
Kingston Fury SSD 240GB
Corsair TX750 watts

I don't know why he is recommending to NOT install MOBO chipset drivers, but he is WRONG!!

Go to THIS PAGE and D/L the latest chipset driver which is dated 2015-08-05. Even the Drivers CD is not this current.

While you're there also get:
1) Killer Network Driver (Driver ONLY!)
2) Realtek high definition audio driver
3) C-Media audio drivers
4) Intel wi-fi driver
5) Intel Blue-tooth driver (If you wish to use BT)
6) Asmedia SATA driver
7) Asmedia USB 3.0/3.1 driver
8) Intel USB 3.0 driver
9) Intel VGA driver (If you'll be using on-board video)

Don't worry about getting the motherboard cd's as it was used for old gen motherboards.
Since yours is modern you just have to install the windows and note that you have to re-install graphics driver after the windows installation by using the disk you got when bought the graphics card .
If you dont have the graphics card driver disk just go to the site and download the latest driver package corresponding to your os

Thank you for your help, Ahmed.

But I'm not sure if I'm following you here, as your answer is a bit vague for someone of very little knowledge in such things like me.

Do you mean that I shouldn't install motherboard drivers? If yes, then why? I though that motherboard drivers are crucial to achieving optimal performance.

Thank you for your clarification, Ahmed. I will make sure to take it under consideration. Thanks again!
