I am currently running one Zotac GTX 980 ti Amp! Extreme edition. I have a strong itch to buy another one. The problem is spacing. I know that another card would fit but I am worried that there would not be enough airflow for the top card, possibly causing it to run uncomfortably hot.

Also, I have an 850W gold rated Corsair PSU, which I would need to upgrade to around 1200W just to be safe, so at least I know that.

Anyway, do you think it would be worth the risk? I saw someone over at overclock.net that ran two of these cards super close together. He said that the top card reached 87c at full load after about 20 minutes, but that was with a moderate OC on an already OCd card.

This is obviously not a need. I can run BF4 at 4k Ultra Settings (no AA, don't really notice much of a difference at 4k) around 70 fps with one card. This is just an itch that has been bugging me for a week. Should I do it... should I not do it? The case just looks incomplete with only one card.

Any thoughts and experiences would be GREATLY appreciated. Y'all are the best. Happy New Year!!!

Well, 2 things, first, could I know your motherboard please? Also, are you using a mid or a full tower? how many case fans? temps are ok now?

As long as you have the proper airflow it shouldn't be an issue. If you find you need another fan but don't have a header, you can buy a splitter and add another fan as well.

I have an msi z97 gaming 7 motherboard. I have a full ATX case with 6 case fans. Two 140s in the front, 3 120s on top, and another 140 in the rear.
