Much Higher FPS Than Refresh Rate; Is It Bad For The Display?

Hello.
I have quite an expensive display, so i tend to worry a bit when using it.
Today i launched a game and had 3500 fps, qhile my monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate.
Worried i enabled V-Sync, but only after a couple of minutes playing at that frame rate.
Any chance i damaged the monitor?

No chance at all. Your monitor can only display 60 fps no matter what framerate your card renders. Rest assured that everything is fine.

Your monitor couldn't care less how many frames per second your VGA produces. It just takes a sample from the buffer every 1/60 second (60Hz).

Just out of curiosity, was that GLquake you were running that you got 3500 FPS with?
