Hello,

Would anyone have any ideas on the best way and simplest way to create a JBOD-type (NOT RAID) solution out of multiple external harddrives?

I have various sized external harddrives (from 500gb to 2tb) with their enclosures currently not in use. I was thinking of taking the drive out of the enclosures, but what would be the best / affordable way to hook them all up together so that they they can all be included together as a singular or multiple drive(s)?

I've searched this and other forums and have yet to find a good solution.

Thanks.

Windows, or at least windows 7 can do software raid to create a JBOD. Be warned that this will convert your disks to dynamic volumes which may not be compatable with some 3rd party software/utilities.

You can also look into NAS boxes.
