multi/dissimilar GFX card install

Just wondering if i can put a different graphics card from my current (xfx 7900 series) into my other pci slot for a 3rd monitor. Not sure what card, something lying around, like my old 8800gt or something.

There may be driver conflicts, but in theory, there shouldn't be any reason why you cannot.
