Multi Monitor Set Up

Hi I want to try out streaming some games on Twitch.tv but I only have 1 monitor set up atm. I have a second monitor that I want to use for Twitch dashboard and desktop stuff.
How would I go about seting up the monitors 1 for the game and one for chat/dashboard and desk top?
Would I put the second monitor in to my motherboard rather than into one of my video cards?

Edit: I am using Windows seven for this.

It would be simpler to have one gpu driver to worry about so put it in the card. It doesn't make any difference to performance. Just plug it in, and the only thing you need to do is make sure the monitor you want to game on is set to primary.

Yeh I just plugged both monitors into the same card( one in dvi,one in hdmi) and it was simple to set up in windows. Alot easier than I expected.
