Hello,

I am currently trying to use between 2-3 monitor arms (the type that clamp on the desk like so http://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V002/dp/B009S750LA/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1463668239&sr=8-27&keywords=monitor+stand), upon researching these with Ikea desks I have seen that the hollow style desks break extremely easily. There are multiple reasons as to why it has to be the clamp style rather than the on the desk or wall mountable style and also why I can't just use a triple monitor one, but need individual ones/2 and 1.

This is the desk I have http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10251352/. I would like to first find a way to reinforce this desk so that I can clamp 2-3 monitor arms onto the desk (the desk is certified to hold the weight just not the pressure all in one spot apparently).

Would something like http://www.homedepot.com/p/Sioux-Chief-5-in-x-8-in-Steel-Safety-Plate-HD536-85/202274013?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-204325592-_-202274013-_-N drilled into the bottom of each desk between the clamp and desk support it enough? If not, would a certain type of wood work? One of these are my preferred solution so I don't have to buy another desk and also because I use 2 and they match (lol).

Last, but not least, would this solid wood table top be sturdy enough for 2-3 clamps or would I still have to try to reinforce this one?http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50106773/

Extra info: I plan on putting 1-2 clamps relatively the close to each other and then the other toward the other side of the desk.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Man that ikea table top is like 2" thick and is made of particle board, it can totally take the weight.

I have 3 monitors, my gaming rig, NAS, Router, a Lamp, some soda, and a couple dirty plates on it for the past few years and it hasn't flexed even a little bit.
