I have just compleated a new build with...

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 EXTREME6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: AMD FirePro W4100 2GB Video Card
Power Supply: Corsair SF 450W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply

My monitor is connected directly to the W4100. I have installed all the latest drivers. However, on startup the monitor displays a very colourful rainbow of fine wavy vertical lines for 5 seconds and then jumps straight into the windows login screen, and then continues to run as expected.

How to resolve this? Or is it normal? (this is my first build)

I would greatly appreciate any input.

Cheers,

Solution
That usually happens when frequencies are not synced between GPU and monitor, once windows (or any OS) starts up drivers change it. What happens when you enter BIOS ?

Thanks for your reply CountMike, Because the colourful screen hangs for so long, by the time the frequencies are synced it is at the windows loading screen. If I try to get into the BIOS while there is the colourful screen it just stays unreadable with the colour pattern. To get into the BIOS, I have to take the W4100 out, connect to the internal GPU and clear the CMOS.

Any suggestions, can I get the GPU to remember the frequency so it is ready on startup?

Cheers

Yes I have tried all the display ports, I think I will try a different monitor when I get my hands on one.
