This problem is related to a new .NET application that we have just
moved into production. The application uses .NET Remoting to run a
number of simultaneous instances of the application on a production
server. The application updates DBF files (FoxPro tables) on the
production server and updates an SQL database on our production
database server. Both are connected via a backside network running at
1 Gbit/sec. The concern is that the application is running slower on
the production server than the test server.
NOTE: Production server has 4 physical CPUs which look like 8 CPUs to
the W2K Adv Server OS. It has 6 GB of memory. The test server, has 2
older Intel CPUs that look like the usual 2 CPUs to the OS. MS SQL
Server runs on the test server along with any application programs.
Auditing is not enabled in the registry HKLM and, pursuant the doc's
I've read, I don't believe the SIP has anything to do with it.
Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
