Well lately my ram has been rather unstable which isnt good as ive only just purchased them (corsair vengeance pro 2x4gb 1866mhz) im using the timings 9-10-9-27 and 1.5v which should be right? But is still unstable and when doing memtest86+ I recieved over 900 errors when first starting the test and I cant seem to work out what ive done wrong? Any help would be much appreciated

Test the modules individually and in the same slot. If one gives errors and the other doesn't then you have a bad stick of ram. If both give errors then it might be a bad motherboard slot or some incorrect bios settings.

The memory could simply be bad, the motherboard could have problems, or those timings could be too tight for that memory. But those are the default settings, aren't they?

Try some slower settings to see if it stabilizes. If you have the spare hardware, try different memory in that mobo or a different mobo with that memory. If the memory is brand new, RMA it.

I have a picture of the test and another of the cpu-z if these are any help, but thanks I will try testing the individual sticks. I have already tried my old ram and they work fine I was just assuming as the ram is new it would not be faulty

Okay I've now set it to 1600mhz and I got 1 error on memtest (alot better than 900!) should I just ignore this error and just hope for the best or am I putting my hardware at risk?
