Multiple gb sticks at a time

Can i use like a 8gb stick of ram and a 16gb in a dual channel? I want to upgrade but I only have 2 slots.

That is fine, so long as they are both the same dual channel type and your motherboard can support 24gb you should be golden. The whole using two of the same kind of sticks in each slot was more important back when we first came out with DDR. If they are a different PC speed, they will run at the rate of the lower of the two.

your better off using one 16g stick and leaving the other slot open if the first slot goes bad.
