Multiple GPU Bottleneck With Lesse Hardware

I am wondering if adding another graphics card to my rig will ultimately slow it down. I know that as far as installing new RAM, it is always best to just replace the entire kit so that everything is identical and meant to work together. Obviously graphics cards are very different from RAM, but I have to ask this dumb question because I don't know the answer. If you have two cards of unequal power, will the better one be limited in any way? These are AMD cards, and are not in a crossfire array. They simply run several monitors each. The more resource intensive things that I do are done on the monitors that belong to the better card, and the other just handles Skype, iTunes, and other random crap like that. Thank you in advance.

No. If they arent in a crossfire/SLI config, then they arent being combined to give more performance, they just work separately.
