I would like to know if I can use Nvidia N640 GT 2GB DDR3 (which i am currently using) and Radeon RX 550 4GB (which I m planning to buy) as a multiple GPU in a motherboard MSI P45 Neo 3, Processor Core 2 Quad Q9500 2.83, 8GB RAM.....thanks!!!!

Solution

i think the problem comes from the CPU, not the GPU, though the GPU also lacks a bit, the CPU is the bigger problem here...

u can run that game, but i don't think it would be really smooth 😱
That motherboard only has 1 16x pci-e port. Where do you plan on installing the 2nd card? Only 1 game(aots) would support using both cards at the same time, assuming you are running win 10 as it would require DX12. But that's a moot point considering you can only install 1 16x card.

u can't pair GPU with different tier, moreover with different brand 🙁
the GPU need to be within 1 tier and generation and also supports either SLI/Xfire (example: 1070 with another 1070 / RX 560 with another RX 560)

might as well replace the GPU
though rather than RX 550, u might want to consider going with RX 460 / 560 instead.

Not entirely true. DX12 has multi gpu mode that can use different gpus in tandem, however the only game I know of that currently supports this is Ashes of the Singularity.

Ya, I realize that P45 neo has 1 PCI 16x :-( .....no question of multi GPU now...All I want to upgrade GPU is to play Fifa 18 with my current spec which I think is not possible or is it if I overclock with current GPU which is N640GT-MD2GD3/OC
need a guide to overclock in Afterburner 🙂

or changing GPU (Rx 550 ) is the only option??? to play Fifa 18....thanks

Can I run Fifa 18 buy overclocking my GPU (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/N640GTMD2GD3OC.html#hero-specification) to max with Afterburner....my current spec. core 2 quad Q9500, 8GB RAM if yes, need full guide to overclock it....thanks!!!!
