Multiple Hard Drives

Hi, I would like to add another hard drive to my pc since the storage is already full. My question is do I need to format it with another OS or will it simply take the OS installed in my first HDD? and can you teach me what I need to do

Hello... You use the drive tools with your OS "Disk management" to partition/format and "mark active" after you plug it into your MB and Boot.

Hello... if Windows OS... Partition, format and "mark active" is the procedure. Right click computer-manage-Disk management and right click the drive graphic screens below, for those options.
