I'm considering a Samsung TV (UN50AU8000FXZA, 2021 Model). I need to have two people listen to the same program using headsets that can have the volume independently adjusted. Price is a factor.
I'm thinking I will need some sort of intermediary, maybe two different devices, to make this work. My question is: What kind of devices will work ?

I realize this is a pretty general question. I'm hoping someone can give me a sample configuration, a starting point that "should work".

Connection from Samsung to the intermediary probably needs to be HDMI 2.1

Connection from the intermediary to the headsets can be a 3.5mm audio out (I would put a audio splitter in=line) or dual Bluetooth connections, possibly to Samsung Galaxy smartphones and from there to the headsets.

I use Sennheiser RS120. They are analog so no pairing or audio delay. You can get multiple units. Then set all the headphones to the same channel as the broadcasting base.

You can get one base and buy additional headphones or get multiple base/headphone sets. I recommend the latter. So you can keep them charged easier.

volocityg4, Thanks for that idea!

The UN50AU8000FXZA seems to be limited to HDMI 2.1 output for sound -- no optical, no analog. At least that's what the specs show and this was confirmed during a chat with a "support specialist".
So after a lot more research my current thinking is to buy an HDMI-to-analog "audio extractor", then take the ordinary old-school sound cable output from the extractor and run it into a headphone amplifier/splitter like a Fosi Audio PH04 (1 stereo in, 4 stereo out, each with separate active volume control.) I can then use my existing headphones.

I've also thought about using a different TV model. Jury is still out on that question, especially if the sound output capability is more robust.

volocityg4, your idea probably will give better results in the long run, but I think it will cost more in the short run. When we buy a pair of new headsets we probably will move to your solution.
