I have an older Acer monitor (an X191W), which has one VGA and one DVI-D port.
I currently have my Windows 10 laptop hooked up to it via the VGA port, but have another computer (also Windows 10) that I only use on rare occasions, which uses a DVI connection.
My question is, if I plug both into the monitor, how would the monitor handle switching between the inputs? For instance, if I put one to sleep, would the other computer then be able to automatically begin outputting to the display?
Also, if it makes any difference, my monitor's menu has an item to switch between analog and digital.
I've already looked into getting a KVM unit, by the way. I'm just looking at possibilities based on things I already have laying around.
