Question Multiple issues with Asus XG349C Ultrawide monitor ?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could help me? I am using an Asus XG349C ultrawide monitor and I am having multiple issues. A few days ago everything was working fine. I had my monitor running at 180hz with HDR on. The suddenly things changed. I have tried using different cables and ports, but the issues persist.

Using Display port:
When I plug my DP into my RTX 4090 my refresh rate will max out at 144hz and HDR will not turn on. I have tried all 3 slots but the issue persists. My monitor's overlocking feature is still enabled and it still shows I am using display port 1.4 so it should at least go to 180hz. I have no idea why it will no longer display 180hz or why HDR is disabled and doesn't allow me to turn it back on.

Using HDMI:
When I use the HDMI port I can only change my max refresh rate to 100hz, overclocking is now greyed out on the monitor's menu, but I can enable HDR.

I am not sure if it is a monitor issue, GPU issue, or a cable issue, even after trying multiple cables. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Edit: When I turn down my refresh rate to 100hz using the DisplayPort, I can then enable HDR.

When you go into the Nvidia control panel to DISPLAY-Resolution- what does it show you for your choices? I.E. Native resolution and refresh rate.
Hi, thanks for responding.

For my resolution I can choose from PC 3440 x 1440 (native) then the resolution goes down to 2560 x 1440, 2560 x 1080 and so on, it goes down to 800 x 600.

For Refresh rate I can choose 144hz, 100hz 85hz and 60hz. If I choose 144hz then HDR disables itself and I cannot enable it unless I go back to 100hz

I can also choose Ultra HD, HD, SD resolution. That starts from 4k x 2k, 3840 x 2160 and goes down to 480p, 720 x 480.. The highest refresh rate I can choose when selecting these is 60hz.

If you go into device manager and look at the monitor line, does it list your monitor? One other thing if you go into Nvidia control panel, change resolution line, go to customize tab, create custom resolution tab, see what the max refresh rate reported in the window is.

Sorry for the late reply.

When I go to device manager the full name of the monitor shows under the monitor tab. When I got to the custom resolution , my max refresh rate reported is 100hz with HDR on and 144hz with HDR off.

Thanks

How to overclock your monitor.
You may not get HDR with 180hz because of bandwidth limitations.
Its specs state 180hz and HDR but it does not say it can do both at the same time.
There is an setting in the monitors menu. The issue is, my monitor was displaying HDR at 180hz for months. I did not change anything then it suddenly just stopped.
