Multiple Networks Different Subnets Windows 7

I apologize in advance if this question is elementary, but the problem is as follows.

I have a Windows 7 Pro Desktop with an on-board Ethernet and an Axis USB To Ethernet adapter.
The on board Ethernet is configured as dhcp and obtain the address 10.162.146.123 with 255.255.255.0 subnet.
The Axis USB to Ethernet adapter is static ip configuration with 10.38.25.37 and 255.0.0.0 as subnet. Under the adv settings I have also another ip 11.38.25.37 with 255.0.0.0 subnet.


When the Axis is communicating 10.38.0.1 network I can not access the internet using the on board Ethernet 10.162.146.123.
I have to disable either one of the cards to access one network at a time. I am not sure what the issue is.

make sure you only have a single default gateway.

Use the route print command to see. You also use the route add command for more advanced configurations

So I tried multiple different gateway settings after your suggestion. I think I did not mention the fact that the on-board Ethernet is a DHCP connection and the axis is a static ip address.

So then here is the config as of now.

The onboard card has the gateway set to 10.162.146.129. But still will not allow internet access when both are cards are enabled. I have to disable the axis static 10.38.25.37 to access the internet.

Any help is appreciated.

sorry for the delay

I suspect there is a issue because the DNS servers in the second adapter are being sent into the lan on the first adapter. The subnet mask is overlaping. It works if you are very careful but I would move your internet adapter off the 10 network or fix the subnet mask on the static assigned adapter
