I have a wifi network set up in my house using 3 wifi routers which are all hard wired to one another. One router is the main router while the other two are access points so I can get a signal everywhere in my house. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/diy-it-guy/diy-setting-up-wireless-access-points-as-repeaters-to-extend-wireless-range/ here is more information on what I am talking about. I was interested to know if I am standing in a part of my house where all 3 routers have a signal, where does my packet go? Does it go to all three routers then two of the packets are destroyed or am I confused about the configuration does only one packet ever form? My goal is to use my 3 routers to triangulate my position, I am hoping that the packet is sent to each router be cause without three I don't know how I will measure the different times it takes to connect with each router.

The packet will go to the one that has the highest signal.
To triangulate the position you'll need a cycling packet sent from the AP's to your position , not visa versa..... the reply from you will define the position.
What you're trying to do is...... let's say a little to much in depth to be able to get you the right guide.
