If it is not a Intel X99 based system then get a 2x8GB kit, otherwise you can consider that 4x4GB kit for extra menory bandwidth (if you need that). Gives you the option expand memory later on without ditching the old kit.

It depends on program/game and what system you are using, AMD systems gain more from faster memory. If the price difference is small get the 2400MHz kit.

What mobo and CPU. For a dual channel mobo get 2x8GB if it supports it, X79 or X99 4x4GB is better. Need mobo/CPU to determine what you can run, won't do any good to get 2400 if you can only run it at 1333 or 1600 😉

2x 8GB 1600 Mhz is the right choice for your build.

BTW, In UK, crucial ballistix sport 16Gb kits are REALLY cheap on amazon right now
