Question Multiple Routers For Security and Servers?

Hi,

So I am connected to the NBN and I run a server on my local network for email hosting,

Is it possible to have the main modem/router connected directly to the server with all required ports open? and then connect and additional modem via WAN Port to use my personal pc and devices for security reasons. incase a hack occurred etc...? would this provide better protection?

or is there another method of doing this?

also just to add there are no open ports on the main router/modem that go to any of my other devices except the server.

Some routers have DMZ, u can place a server there, and the rest of LAN would be separate.

OR

U can implement VLAN, again with the goal of isolating.

No worries cheers mate, when I get back on Friday night ill take a look and see what I can do and will report back here if I have any further issues
