Multiple Screen Crashes

My new graphic card arrived today (Asus r9 280x) and I have just recently installed into my desktop. My problem is when I start-up my computer everything will load like it should until it reaches the desktop. I'm able to view the desktop, surf the internet and open/close programs for around 2 minutes if I'm lucky, majority of the time it will crash in ten to twenty seconds of it being on the desktop.

The crash screen basically changes every time. One time it will just be a black screen then it will be orange, grey or yellow. Each with these vertical lines on the screen.

I'm most likely certain it's my Asus r9 280x creating the problem as my computer was running just fine with my old graphic cards, the HD Radeon 7850 both are Direct CU v2.

My Specs:

GPU: Asus r9 280x
CPU: FX-8350
RAM: 8GB
MOBO: M5A97 2.0
PSU: Can't remember the exact name but I know it's 750W.

I have Windows Ultimate 64 bit.

Most of the time when a gpu starts artifacting is caused of a unstable overclock or it is just getting old, but i your case it's brand new and the best is just to return it for a refund.
You can try to lower the clockspeeds a bit but i would go with the refund. Most of the time an artiffacting gpu is helpless.
You need to return your gpu. It's a fault artifacting gpu. Ask for a return at the store you got it from.

Yeah I have already tried to lower the clock speeds but to no success. I will just have to return my GPU and stick with the HD Radeon 7850 for the time being.
