I'm using windows 2000 pro with multiple user accounts on the same computer.

If one user sets up a dial up networking account, and then someone else logs in and tries to use that dun account, the username and password don't stay the same. The username changes to the windows username for that user, and the password field goes blank.

I understand it is for security etc, but how would I make a dun account setting persist with the same details with all the local users?

Thanx

If all the users are using the same account for dial up, then try going under the Administrator >> under the properties of the dial up network connection and specify that you don't want it to bring up the dialog box. You would do this under the Properties >> Options >> and "Prompt for name and password, certificate, ect."

Doing that should just make it dial when double clicking the connection you want to connect to. It's not going to ask for the user name and all that stuff ...

Thanx. Is there a way to make the user notify that they're connecting to the internet other than the username/pasword prompt?

There's actually a option in the same place as the other to "Display progress while connecting". Just make sure that's selected and it will have the status while it's dialing.
