Waiting for the initial waves of buyers who have "more dollars than sense" to buy all this overpriced crap and then when sales tank, and prices crash, pick up something at a decent price these things should have been launched at.

Price/performance scaling is so messed up.

The 4070 is about 35% of the cores of a 4090 at about 37.5%+ of the price.

The bottom end of the stack is over priced. Pricing the lower cards compared to the "halo" cards is just madness!

$800 for a mid tier gpu?

if thats true the 4060 gonna be 500 minimum...likely 600~

this type of pricing is legit gonna push the "budget gamers" to consoles.

The quoted price is only the very basic one and the first one to go out of stock, a couple of hundred more for a few Megahertz, even greater madness.
Yupp, a few MHz you either get anyways because those cards run so cool they don't even come close to throttling temperatures, or which you can easily apply manually (and which you usually don't even notice because it's single-digit gains anyways)... I'm never gonna buy OC models again. They aren't worth the money.

Just hope the rumours about the base cards being so power limited that they run slower is not true.
