I was wondering if anyone had the multipliers for the new core 2 duos. Does anyone know if they will overclock as well as the old chips, or do people need to try the new stepping to know for sure?

I sn't it just the bus changed from 266 to 333:
E6600 clocked@333 to make the E6850
E6420 clocked@333 to make the E6750
E6320 clocked@333 to make the E6550

With that said, shouldn't we just buy the @266 version of the chip we want and save a little more cash before oc'ing?
I was gonna buy an E6420 with a 965 chipset but i think i'll buy the new P35 chipset (Asus P5K SE) and stick to this same CPU (not the new 6750). I'll spend the money saved from not buying the 6750 on a better cooler 😉
So i figure I should be able to OC the E6420 from 2.13Ghz easily to 8x333=2.66Ghz

It's either that or I trust the retail HSF provided by Intel and buy the E6750 and run it stock.
I chose the E6420 cuz its the best price/performance ratio. The jump to E6600 costs much more.
If i was to run stock, the E6550 is probably my best price/performance ratio.

Any comments?!

for me, the whole point of overclocking is to buy the cheaper products and run them as fast, or faster than their more expensive counterparts.

i dont care much for benchmark results and thousands of points in sum crappy 3dmark poop.

im a student, i need to save the money to spend in the union 😛

ide defo go 6420 and new p5k. grab a decent cooler and get OCing. Shud be able to hit 3ghz if ure lucky XD
