Music file reading software

i would like to know how many songs i have in a folder, i have so many that windows media player will no longer play them if i try to play my whole library. i think the last time windows media player stopped working correctly was around 22k songs, but i'm not sure. but i would like to know if there is a standalone application for scanning how many music files i have in total. i dont want a new media player or anything like that, just a standalone program.

Exactly. I do not know the limit of this command but it works on my computer up to at least 85,000 songs, so the limit must be pretty high.

Yes you guys, I have one file called "MY MUSIC COLLECTION" that has approx. 87,500 songs in it, all wave files.

it's not accurate because i have album art and playlist files and other text files from torrents and whatnot

A bit over 4 million is the limit for 1 folder for ntfs.

Does it really need to be that accurate? Try mediamonkey.

media monkey is really nice and i'm considering switching from wmp which i've used ever since xp.
