Music not showing up on Samsung Galaxy S when transferred

If I transfer music files to my Galaxy S they don't show up in Slacker music player. If I erase "media storage" data they do show up but that erases my playlists and photos. The music does show up in the "files" folder. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and Happy 2016 to everyone.

Is there a folder on your device labeled "Music"?? If so put the mp3 files in there.

No music folder just the slacker folder with folders like album playlists, etc.

If you can, Create a new folder and name it "Music" (Without the ") Then put the mp3 files in there and see what happens.

Sorry for late reply, Put the newly created music folder in the root of the Storage.

You are talking about a folder called "Files"? I put a folder in the "files" folder called "Music". Music player still not picking it up.

When you first plug up the device to your computer, A window pops showing all of the files on the device, That is the root of your device's storage, Put the music folder there.
