Hi! May i ask for any advice w/ regards to my 1st PC build which im going to use for my home recording studio. My initial prefs are as follows (im just going to insert my questions per items)
1. Processors
* I7 5820k vs I7 5930k which is better in terms of value/ performance (i plan to over clock)
2. Mobo
* Asus X99 pro, Deluxe vs Rampage w/c is better?
3. RAM
* 32 GB DDR4 (preferrably gskilss. what configurations/ specs could you recommend)
4. GPU
* Can you recommend atleast a gpu that could somehow enable me to play current games but not really that much expensive? i plan to use 2 monitors by the way and no plans of doing sli or crossfire. Minor gaming only.
4. Storage
* 2 Intel 750 SSDs; 1.2 TB for samples and the 400 GB for the OS (is this possible, how?)
* 1TB HDD for projects & 1 2TB for storage (what brand and specs could you recommend?)
5. im going to use thunderbolt for audio interface (probably the clarett by focusrite once it gets compatible w/ win10.
6. swiftech h240 prestige (do you think its worth it to also watercool the gpu by expansion? The reason why im thinking about it is to minimize noise.
7. for fans (i intend to buy noctua) in this regard, may i ask how many noctua fans could you recommend?
8. PC Chasis
* Phanteks enthoo luxe
9. PSU
* what is your recommended wattage and type of psu for this build? (gold, or bronze etc?) i want also a considerable amount of head room as im going to use several usb 3.1 and 2.0 if ever.
10. assuming the recommemded is 1000 watts, could you recommend a 1200 watts AVR or a 1200 ups w/ AVR.

Looking forward for any inputs.

Thank you

Solution
1) 5820K unless you're putting 4 Titan X's in SLI.
2) X99 Pro, though X99-WS gives you ECC, which you may find quite useful.
3) Any RAM from reliable brands are fine. Though if you go the ECC way, then I trust Kingston and Crucial.
4) 2 PCI-e x1 SSDs...? Maybe not so much. Motherboards usually have only 1 PCI-e x1 slots.
5) Okay...? Question?
6) No need for water cooling. It's actually even useless. You aren't gaming heavily. A Noctua cooler would be quiet AND give similar performance.
7) Enough to replace all the included case fans.
8) Don't get that. Make sure the case is silent. You're doing music production, and shouldn't want noise from other components. Stuff like Cooler Master Silencio 652S and Corsair 4/600Q are silent.
9) EVGA...

9) EVGA P2. Fans barely comes on.
10) You don't need 1000W.

And as for the gaming, GTX 950 should do okay as long as you're really only doing light gaming.
