Music recording and editing PC build?

Hi im helping a friend build a music production PC. i am a gamer and i know how to build a gaming pc but im not sure about music production so im wodering if he needs an i7 or would an i5 or fx 8350 be good enough? And does he need a good graphics card? How much ram? He uses pro tools and records local rock bands and rappers.

If it's simply a music editing machine with no gaming, go for an i7 cpu, 16gb of ram, and a low-level graphics card.
