I remember an "Always on top" setting for application priority, but that may have been an older Windows thing.
Thing is, since my reinstallation of WIndows 7, I'm having problems with certain applications I normally run in the background pushing their way to the foreground at inopportune times, often when I'm gaming or working on something else. My various video applications are the worst offenders, trumpeting that they are done with this task or that, and switching my current application to the background. Really pisses me off.
Is there not a way to prioritize applications in Windows 7, that they cannot pull the user out of what he is doing?
