Rented both so not an in depth analysis. Sega 2K5 has much better graphic
(the players in MVP look bad). MVP has it beat on game play for throwing,
hitting and pitching interface. The batting in 2K5 seems more difficult.
Online rosters in EA can be used for the season, 2K5 updated rosters only
for online mode (what a rip off).

Commentating goes to 2K5.

Why did I buy 2K5 then and not EA? You can't shorten the season and playoffs
in EA. 162 games to finish the game, yikes.

Hopefully EA will fix that next year. Anyone else play both?

I think 2k sports bought the mlb license, so not sure if ea will make a
baseball game. Kinda like how they bought the nfl license.

I chose 2k5 for the same reason you did. I just wanted to play a season. And
yeah, not 162 friggin games either. EA only had like a franchise mode for a
season. I dont like to get really that deep into it. Just want to play a
game you know.

If baseball was my favorite game, sure would do the 162 games but too many
cool games out there.

EA won't fix anything next year because they don't own MLB rights anymore.
This is their last MLB baseball game.

Hmmm....MVP is better on batting, hitting interface, & throwing. Isnt
that pretty much all baseball is? ;-)

MVP is much more realistic as far as gameplay is concerned . I've
played all of the games and as far as realism (game mechanics, physics
etc) MVP is the best by far.

I run an online league so I'm not really concerned as much about the
offline season. I really like the fact you can upload custom rosters
this year on MVP. It allows us to do in-league trades.

Too bad this is the last year for MVP....
