I really need an upgrade over my molasses slow Seagate 500gb hdd (2.5") in my laptop.
Ony currently tight budget, I only have 2 options in sight
1)500gb mx500 Crucial
2)750gb mx300 Crucial
I also had the Bx500 960gb ssd in mind, but later found out that performance tanks due to the lack of a dram cache.
I prioritise space over speed because any ssd is better than my crappy hard drive

Where are you getting an mx300 from? Cheapest one i found was $177 used. And for that much you can get the 1TB Mx500 and pocket $50
I'm in India where all electronics are exorbitantly marked up over US prices (due to import taxes).
Here the price of mx500 500gb~mx300 750gb~bx500 960gb (amazon.in)
But since it has been pointed out to me that the mx500 uses a better quality flash, I would go for that...
