I just ordered a nitro5 laptop with only 256gb nvme, it has 2 x M.2 slots and a 2.5 inch bay.
I could get a mx500 for around 80 usd and 88 for sx8200 both 1tb

If i get m.2 and swap out laptops os drive, witch is slower , i will need to reinstall os for windows 10 home... i assume windows10 pro wont be automatically activated?

Leave the OS drive alone.
Add a 2.5 or a m.2..... your choice.

i dont get it, if i get the sx8200, it should be faster than original one
Well what drive does it come with stock?

The MX500 and sx8200 are both entry level drives. Even if they are faster would you even notice a difference?

What Bob.B is suggesting is you keep your operating system on the current drive you have, and only use it for your operating system and nothing else. Add on an M.2 or 2.5 ssd or even both. Your add on drive would be for games only. Doing this will reduce your OS drive from bogging down.

I have two 4th gen M.2 drives and in the real world I don't see any difference between them and my Kinston/Crucial 2.5 SSDs (gaming).
