I have a Logitech MX510 mouse that a couple of weeks ok, started disconnecting briefly. It may go for days with no problem and then fail multiple times in an hour. I get a beep, the red light goes out and a second later its back on. I've disassembled it and blown out dust - almost none.
Since this is the best mouse I ever had, I'd like to fix it, and also the wheels been customized, by my adjusting the spring tension. Its normally plugged into a mother board USB port, I've also tried in a powered hub, but I'm not sure if it failed there - since the failure is not predictable. How can I tell if its repairable? I can get replacement cable on eBay for $6,if that worth trying. [lol - its 7 years old]
I have a new M510 wireless mouse, but have not opened it yet, I'm not sure its quite the same.
