Question My 1080ti reaches 90° when gaming. What do?

Hey,

My 1080ti reaches 90° when running any games but doesn't seem to throttle and the GPU usage stays at 99% when using MSI afterburner.

My case doesn't have the best cooling but the same thing happens with the side panel on/off.

Any ideas on what might be happening and if it's worth sending the card away for someone to look at?

Any help would be great. Thank you!

PS, it's the Inno3D 1080ti.

Turn off DSR, or turn it down to 2k from 4k

is the heatsink on your GPU dust filled? Do the fans run at 100% when at this temps?

90c is pretty toasty

Heatsink doesn't look to be dusty. Cleaned some dusty of the fans but same thing happening.

Also I have the fans set to 100% in the spirit of trying to keep it cool.

You could always attempt to change the thermal paste, it may help. Then again it may not. Any way you could increase airflow in the case? Maybe another case fan?

All fan slots are taken up and having the side panel off makes no odds so I think it's something to do with how the GPU is getting rid of heat

Turn up your fan speed and see what happens. Could always remove the heatsink and put on some better paste and/or thermal pads depending on your card.
