Was looking to stay roughly under $300 and these are the parts, that I found. Would these mesh well together? Will do some light gaming (nothing crazy) and video conversion (mkv to mp4 etc).

@RababNoor -- what is the diff between the AMD chip in my post and the i5 in yours? they look pretty comparable IMO, but I could be totally incorrect on that.

And is it better to run 2 4GB sticks or one 8GB stick?

Both perform same.

*I choose Intel over AMD because of Heat dispatch & Power Consumption.
*Besides you need an aftermarket cooler to Overclock your AMD CPU.
*The Mobo you choose is cheap, so can't get the full Overclocking potentiality from that one, you need a higher end Mobo.

Running 2 stick memory in dual channel will be a increase[not much,but it'll will put less pressure on both ram] in performance than running a single stick in single channel.
